The Highlight of the Hetairoi inning was the father and son combination of Michael and Geoff Penington. Despite giving his Dad a significant head start, Geoff very nearly beat his father to the 50 mark, although ultimately lost the race and unfortunately fell short of his own half century with the skipper deciding that the declaration could not be delayed any further. Geoffs innings included some lusty blows, belying the fact that this was his first game of cricket for many years.
Between innings we caught the edge of some storm activity so lost a fair bit of time from the game. A revised target of 161 in 30 overs was agreed which Flycatchers reached with relative comfort 5 wickets down. |
