Will Ball was the mainstay of the Hetairoi batting with a superb 90 before picking out the wrong fielder (TJ) on the deep square boundary. That aided by sone lusty hitting from the tailenders enabled Hetairoi to post a competitive 177
For a long time, whilst Tom Jenkin was at the crease, it looked like Sudbourne had the chase under control until Tom finally fell for 71 to a catch in the deep (at the third time of asking) . Thereafter SH lost quick wickets and ended playing out the last couple of overs 8 down with still 25 required for victory.
Another very competitive match played in good spirit (albeit with a couple of dubious umpiring decisions falling in both teams favour. One such one denying Ollie Fryer his first ever stumping ( I think the umpire was still miffed about an LBW decision against him that did admittedly look to be rather high from side on!).
Stephen got his revenge for the non-decision by pickling the wicket up caught on the very next delivery. |
